What do you all think is the best Computer Hardware site to visit? I would say TigerDirect.com and Newegg.com.

I get all my stuff from Newegg. Even though I've talked to people who shop at TigerDirect and they like the service, I can't stand their website layout. To me, it has a "flea market" type feel to it. Dunno... maybe I'm just weird.

FM, I agree that NewEgg is a good choice. Usually they have the best price, but not always.

AvaDirect (http://www.avadirect.com/) also seems to be good, since I've ordered from there before. That's what I'll check if I want some part that NewEgg doesn't sell. For example, the RAM sticks in my PC. NewEgg doesn't sell those for some reason.

TigerDirect.com has a amazing selection on DDR2 Mem sticks and really freaking cheap. 4gigs for $30

Newegg is usually my choice. I remember them from when they had a retail store in Manhattan only a block away from where I worked. It was called Egghead Software. At some point I guess they realized that paying rent in midtown Manhattan wasn't cost effective, so they closed up and went on the Internet. Smart move.

Thanks for the heads up on the AvaDirect site. This is the first time I've heard of it. I went there earlier today and saw that you can completely customize a laptop. I just might have to order one from there.

I remember that place. It was around the block from Grand Central Station. I bought quite a bit of stuff there back in the days of Windows 3.1 & 95.

I almost always buy from Newegg too.

I would have to say the best site is to google it, if you google the hardware you want, you can find the best
price, some site might sell it for 100.00 and the ship is 20.00=120.00 and one site might have it for
115.00 + free ship=115.00.

So to me,the best thing is to take what you want and search it, western digital velociraptor 150g,
best price I see now is newegg at 159.00 free ship.

I grabbed mine from e-bay,128.00, it was brand new, checked on WD site and found it had its full warranty,
depends on who you get it from, there is a small chance that you could get coned, but I got lucky and a great price.

Many of the sites cited here as well as Amazon, pricewatch, eWiz, compgeek, meritline (flash drives), unity electronics, 3btech, and ascendtech are few companies I've done business with in the last two years.
