State Department Floating Ammo Import Ban
It looks like those who
said the Obama Administration would strike while the iron is hot may have
been correct, and the Administration may be doing it in a way that does not
require them to even get a vote in Congress. In this morning's edition of
the Shooting Wire, Jim Shepherd writes that Canadian officials have it on
"good authority"
our State Department may be on the verge of cutting off all imports of
certain calibers of ammunition.
Ammos listed for this rumored ban include the .50BMG, 7.62x39mm Soviet,
7.62x51mm NATO, .308 Winchester, 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington.
Additionally, we're hearing that an expansion of this proposed ban might be
broadened to include the 6.8mm SPC, 9mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP-
among others.
In other words, State Department officials may be floating a trial balloon
to see if there are howls of protest, or whimpers of compliance. Canadian
elected officials who have directed this information to me say the move
seems to be motivated by "emboldened"
anti-gun officials who think they have a kindred spirit in President Obama.
Shepherd continues that there may also be a plan to ban exports on certain
firearms to Canada from the US, resulting in the State Department hammering
gun manufacturers, distributors and exporters in the United States while
simultaneously making firearms -and ammunition
- ownership and acquisition more difficult for Canadians.

well i said the same thing in an old post
if they cut off or restrict access to ammo
they dont have to fight a constituitional
issue in court or try to amend it and have
effectivly abrogated the 2d amendment
fait accompli

Federal gun ban list
February 15, 2009
Subject: FW: Gun Law Update by Alan Korwin, Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list
Date: Thursday, January 22, 2009
Forward or send to every gun owner you know..... Gun Law Update by Alan Korwin, Author Gun Laws of America Jan. 5, 2008 Gun-ban list proposed Slipping below the radar (or under the short-term memory cap), the Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list, even under the Bush administration when they knew full well it had no chance of passage (HR 1022, 110th Congress). It serves as a framework for the new list the Brady's plan to introduce shortly. I have an outline of the Brady's current plans and targets of opportunity - it's horrific. They're going after the courts, regulatory agencies, firearms dealers and statutes in an all out effort to restrict we the people. They've made little mention of criminals.
Now more than ever, attention to the entire Bill of Rights is critical. Gun bans will impact our freedoms under search and seizure, due process, confiscated property, states' rights, free speech, right to assemble and more, in addition to the Second Amendment. The Democrats current gun-ban-list proposal (final list will be worse):
Rifles (or copies or duplicates):
M1 Carbine
Sturm Ruger Mini-14
AR-15
Bushmaster XM15
Armalite M15
AR-10, AR70
Thompson 1927, Thompson 1927 Commando, Thompson M1
AK, AKM, AKS, AK-47, AK-74, ARM
MAK90
NHM 90, NHM 91, SA 85, SA 93, VEPR; Olympic Arms PCR
Calico Liberty
Dragunov SVD Sniper Rifle or Dragunov SVU

Hi-Point Carbine
HK-91, HK-93, HK-94, HK-PSG-1
Kel-Tec Sub Rifle; Saiga, SAR-8, SAR-4800
SKS with detachable magazine
SLG 95, SLR 95 or 96, Steyr AU, Tavor, Uzi, Galil and Uzi Sporter, Galil Sporter, or Galil Sniper Rifle
(Galatz).
Pistols (or copies or duplicates):
Calico M-110
MAC-10, MAC-11, or MPA3, Olympic Arms OA
TEC-9, TEC-DC9, TEC-22 Scorpion, or AB-10, Uzi.
Shotguns (or copies or duplicates):
Armscor 30 BG, SPAS 12 or LAW 12, Striker 12, Streetsweeper.
Catch-all category (for anything missed or new designs):
A semiautomatic rifle that accepts a detachable magazine and has:
(i) a folding or telescoping stock
(ii) a threaded barrel
(iii) a pistol grip (which includes ANYTHING that can serve as a grip, see below)
(iv) a forward grip; or a barrel shroud.
Any semiautomatic rifle with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds (except tubular magazine .22 rimfire rifles)
A semiautomatic pistol that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine, and has:
(i) a second pistol grip
(ii) a threaded barrel
(iii) a barrel shroud or
(iv) can accept a detachable magazine outside of the pistol grip
(v) a semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds.
A semiautomatic shotgun with:
(i) a folding or telescoping stock
(ii) a pistol grip (see definition below)
(iii) the ability to accept a detachable magazine or a fixed magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds (iv) a shotgun with a revolving cylinder. Frames or receivers for the above are included, along with conversion kits. Attorney General gets carte blanche to ban guns at will: Under the proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any "semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General."
Note that Obama's pick for this office (Eric Holder, confirmation hearing set for Jan. 15) wrote a brief in the Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home. In making this determination, the bill says, "there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event." In plain English this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public. The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm doesn't have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for a sporting purpose -- is that devious or what? And of course, "sporting purpose" is a rights infringement with no constitutional or historical support whatsoever, invented by domestic enemies of the right to keep and bear arms to further their cause of disarming the innocent.
Respectfully submitted, Alan Korwin, Author Gun Laws of America

I'm trying to locate a list of all the states that want to secede, and give them all the support I can muster. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if there was an ammo ban in the porkulus bill that just got ramrodded through.:mgun

First and formost, that Kenyan ape better focus on important things. He'll fuck those up too, but he should at least work on them.
Guns shouldn't be on anybody's short list in Washingcoon.
I could see this brewing. When the nigger got elected people made huge runs on ammo and guns. Anybody could understand, but it was so dramatic that it was bound to get attention and it has.
The country no longer has the mental capacity to think "out front" that being discreet might have been a better course. There's a chance that all of this movement in ammo will provoke the very thing gun owners don't want.
Panic breeds panic and I worry that this could become a self fulfilling prophesey. I believe in the second ammendment, but I also recognize that a country that has elected what it has, no longer has the brain power or resolve to win fights with it's government.
If people are such poozies, they should at least not broadcast it.

there has been no discreet talking from the left or from the UN sir. the taking of guns from the American public has been brewing for quite some time. and to not take action now and speak out would most definitely result in catastrope due to lack of preparation. sorry, i just disagree.-cheers

No worries at all. We're actually saying the same thing, but from different angles. First and foremost, my opinion of the populace of this country is at an all time low. Right or wrong, that impacts just about everything that I consider important. If I sound jaundiced, it's because I am.:)
The decisions and direction are mortifying.
When I look at the gun issue, we've actually been winning and winning pretty big. States allowing concealed carry are at an all time high. Whole classifications of guns that were banned, particularly rifles are now available to us. Magazine restrictions on pistols have been lifted, on and on and on.
Gun rights people have actually been winning and I never ever take that for granted. God knows there are no shortage of gains needed, but it's been going in a good direction.
This is exactly where my cynicism kicks in. I hate the thought of a fight where the first person you need to kill is the guy crying in your foxhole, giving away your position.
I've seen progress on second ammendment issues and it wasn't from the left or people that voted for that nigger. I'd hate to see "our populace" engaged in protecting our rights and the things that were won in the last few years.
Right now, I'm not sure who's in our foxhole, but I'm pretty certain, in this country, that he's more likely to give away my position and give back the gains.
Either way, always glad to know about anyone that cares about the 2nd ammendment.:mgun

Spooky stuff and you're right. I know a lawyer who is nothing like any of our images of a lawyer. He's absolutely brilliant, ruthlessly hates the government (for as long as I've known him) and has something like 2500 guns, rifles.....everything.
He's a fanatic 2nd Ammendment guy and is always thinking about this stuff. He scared the shit out of me one day talking about it. He said that all the government would have to do to fuck everything up is to control the primers!!!
Now that's a scary thought. He figures guns are so plentiful and there are so many owners that it would be tough get them.....so why bother? If you think about it, there are a bazillion different bullets in as many calibers. There aren't that many types of primers as each has multiple uses.
If someone were to control the distribution of those little primers..............in many respects we could be disarmed without a whimper. (((((((((((shudder))))))))))))
I suppose there's ways to make those too, but that's a tough deal. What a brilliant way to screw us, while never mentioning the gun.
I always wished he'd never told me that. :)

The primer consists of two metal parts and a small amount of explosive compound. Primers come in different sizes depending on the firearm. Using a small pistol primer as an example, the cup is usually about 0.125 inch (0.32 cm) in diameter and 0.125 inch (0.32 cm) tall, and made of soft copper or brass. Inside is placed a small amount of the impact-sensitive explosive lead styphnate, and pressed into the opening is a triangle shaped piece called the anvil. When struck by the firing pin, the center of the cup collapses, squeezing the explosive between its inner surface and the anvil. The explosive ignites and shoots a flame through the flash hole, igniting the propellant to fire the cartridge.
uh oh....looks like we have the directions.-cheers

I've said this many times and I'll say it again like a broken record. If we don't learn from our past or the past of others we will be doomed to repeat it. We have a totalitarian dictatorship 90+ miles from our shore. Fidel Castro's famous second line was "?armas pa'que?" Meaning "arms for what?"
If your citizens don't have firearms, they cannot be used against you when you come to confiscate their shit in your socialist/communist government. The time to buy ammo is now. Buy it in bulk if you have to. I found a good way to store it is to have a bucket full of rice and keep your bullets in there. Us who live in gun loving states have it a little easier then others but whatever guns and ammo you buy, make sure it's plentiful enough that you can replace and repair gun parts. Goto the range and get very familiar with your gun. And for God's sake, get your passports. Who knows when these commies are going to start "classifying" human beings and at that point it'll be impossible for you to get one and get the hell outta here if need be. I'd rather be poor and starving in a third world country a free man, then living in this socialist niggerloving metropolis under nigger rule that was once the U.S.A.! :mgun

You're absolutely right about that. They've been on a great streak lately and we're better off than we were, say 10 years ago. There are other groups too, but I don't know as much about them.
With all of the problems facing this country, gun issues shouldn't be on the governments radar screen, anyway.
