View Full Version : Anybody into old rockabilly?
I really love the more obscure, wilder stuff myself.
Just think, this song was banned from American radio in 1956 because it was too sexual. What has happened to our world where you can turn on TV or radio anytime of the day and here the festering filth of cRap "songs"???

Great song!
Link Wray is not technically considered rockabilly, more like surf guitar, but we rockabilly cats do love him along with Dick Dale.

The Taphouse here in Norfolk showcases lots of Rockabilly, Punkabilly, Country-Rock, and Americana music. I like it a lot.
Plus they have zero nigger customers and only one nigger employee.

Who was the guy that wrote several songs that The Cramps performed?
He was a hillbilly dude from Kentucky or Tennessee.
He recorded a lot of his material himself on an old tube reel-to-reel.
I had an album of his back in the 80s fur for the life of me I can't remember the guy's name.

aryan girl, I would recommend that you check out The Paladins. They're old style and probably to your liking. The Million Mile Club album is kicks ass.
Look them up on Youtube or check out samples on Amazon.com
Love the stuff!!! I have a vast collection of it and also play it (guitar).-cheers

I love rockabilly, but I like doo wop just as much. I like rockabilly in all it's forms, including The Cramps and The Stray Cats. And Pat Benetar's Ooh Ooh Song.
