Out of curiosity, what fonts and size do you use? I am a bit of a perfectionist by nature, and I can't for the life of me get it set to where it's the most comfortable on the eyes.

I use Firefox, but on XP.

As for fonts and size, I just use the defaults. So far, it never occurred to me to switch it to something else.

I am kind of having the same problem on my new computer. I use firefox and it seems certain websites have really big text. I tried changing the font size but it only helped a little. Also, some things are super small text. The differences in text only happen on a few websites though. Not sure if Vista has anything to do with it or not.

Yep, that's what I was talking about. Like on this site (using Firefox), the font is rather small but is bold which makes everything sort of smudged. And on other sites the fonts tend to tiny as hell and I have to keep dinking around with the zoom control.

Oh well. I'll just keep messing with it until I find something that my eyes can handle longer than 5 minutes at a time.

I know, I feel the same way. But at least Ubuntu works, real niggers tend not to.

When I hear people raise this argument, I tell them to use Debian, the distribution that Ubuntu is based upon.

After having tried different choices, Debian seems to work the best. It's what I use for servers, or other cases where I wish to use Linux.

And another thing, unlike Ubuntu, the name Debian comes from the people who started the project (http://www.debian.org/intro/about).

I use the default settings normally but then my main monitor is 28" so I can get away with it. Some pages though I simply use the ctrl +/- to zoom or zoom out the page for viewing.
