Great, great book chronicling Booth's 12 days following Lincoln's assassination culminating with his own death on Richard Garrett's farm.

A must-read for all who are fascinated by this subject. I for one was interested in the fate of Boston Corbett, the sergeant with the 16th New York who fired the shot that finally ended everything.

He was never prosecuted and actually became somewhat of an ersatz celebrity himself. Very bizarre man, though, he castrated himself for thinking "impure" thoughts and became a religious zealot.
