FPSs -- First Person Shooters

Just recently got a new computer and was wanting to get into FPSs. First Person Shooters. Could yall give me a few good titles to check out? I know about Rainbow 6 and Call Of Duty, but what else would be good.

The GTA's on PC's are cool, for a bit of nostalgia go for Postal 2, awesome game. Halo, Duke Nukem 3d :lol

well first you will want to make sure your new pc can handle these games, fps games put alot of stress on video cards, so be sure you have a good video card, bfg geforce is a good modded version of nvidia, so isn't xfx, second make sure you have enough ram ( memory) and last besure your processor(s) are fast enough, 3.20 GHz is awsome and will play any fps game on the market today, as for fps games go Call of Duty 5 world at war" is awsome so i've heard, i played the beta and it was cool, stalker - clear sky" is also cool, bioshock is fun ,battleifield 2142 is ok, farcry 2 is fun , half life 2 is alot of fun. all those games should run if you have a decnt vid card, and to see if they can run on your pc you can always check out

Get Half-Life 2 so you can play Team Fortress 2. Playing COD 5 and it's.... okay. TF2 is the best of the year if you want my opinion. COD4 also a tad better than 5 I think. Are working on 6 already so *shrug*. TF2, trust me! The Slovak or whatever he is Heavy Weapons guy laughing while firing off the minigun NEVER gets old.

Alright, these have been my favorite type of computer game for years, ever since the original Wolf 3D!

Older titles:

DOS (run with dosbox):
Wolf3D (obviously)
Blake Stone 1 & 2 (Wolf 3D in SPACE!)
any DOOM or DOOM engine based game (ultimate DOOM, DOOM2, Heretic, Hexen, Strife)
Duke nukem 3D (run with EDuke32, google it)

Newer (most run in WINXP, don't know about Vista)
Quake 1 ( If you can get it to run in WinXP, this game was made for Win95)
Quake2
Quake 3
Quake 4 (uses the DOOM3 engine, so it might stress your system at high detail levels, just like DOOM3)
Unreal tournament 99' (still the best in my opinion)
UT2004
Doom 3
Half-Life series
Counter-Strike (condition zero or source if your machine is fast)
Pariah
Postal 2, as had been mentioned, this game is sorta plotless, but great for stress relief
ZOGS nightmare, a white supremacist FPS, google is again your friend here
Earlier COD series

Newest, these can stretch your machine pretty hard:
COD 4 and 5
Fallout 3
Farcry 1 & 2
Unreal tournament 3 (what? a PLOT in my UT? Blasphemy, I say! lol)

Anyway, I don't know your system specs, but I assume you want to play online, so I would go with COD4, all of the UT series, CS:source, HL2:deathmatch, Quake 3 and if you want to go seriously oldschool, Doom2 with ZDOOM.

Oops, I forgot the Halo series. Stay away from the PC versions of the GTA series, they aren't that good, and are buggy. Stay FAR away from 4, unless you want to kill your nigger over and over!

The others had some good ideas.

My favourite FPSes were released in the 1990s. BLOOD is a good one if you like steampunk gothic stuff. DooM has been mentioned already, but I would like to add myself to the list of people who recommended it. Duke Nukem 3D is also good, if you don't mind the porny theme.

I've been really enjoying Left 4 Dead (http://www.l4d.com/home.php) recently. Quite possible, the best co-op FPS there is.

All the other games mentioned are good & you can'y go wrong with any of them.

I can highly recommend No-one Lives Forever and the sequel - old, but pure gold. Really playable, and funny with it. Another to look at is Deus Ex, again from a few years ago. It has a dark storyline based on the NWO, which changes based on your decisions.

here. Try downloading demos of the titles our white brothers
have posted. Then you get a good idea of what retail
versions you would want to buy. Me....I have spent enough
in the last 20 years to have purchased a Lexus with a

I have not tried "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Skys" yet....my comp is older and doesn't have the graphics power to appreciate all the bells and whistles of the better graphics.

I do recommend the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R shadow of Chernobyl a really fun game.

You get a good variety of pistols and rifles and semi auto and auto weapons plus specalty weapons as well.

You also get a myriad of armour.

In both cases each gun performs differently and guns wear out with use and ammo is obtained by both buying and scavaging the dead. The armor wears out too but there are ways to repair armor.

In the game you have health kits, antiradiation medicine.

Best of all....absolutely no niggers in the game whatsoever. And they have online play as well. You have to get a recent patch to play so you can bet you probably will never Play with any niggers on board.

I enjoyed COD4 was disapointed in COD 5 - they have two production teams that work on the series....the team responsible for COD 4 IS MAKING COD6 the team that made COD 5 WILL MAKE COD7.....

Hope that explains why cod 4 is better than cod 5......the latest rainbow 6 is also a fav of mine. - you can do a cheat to change rainbow from first into a third person shooter which is fun but harder. You get to see the camo you win in 3rd person which is cool....

Just put resistance fall of man 2 on its good.....made a good choice.....ps3 games have got allot cheaper I think its the economy

I dont like the shaking crap they do in some fps such as in cod5.....its annoying and takes away from the quality of gameplay. thats my 5 cents on that.

if you get the chance and you have a damn good gaming computer, then check out the game "Fallout 3" it is like an rpg first person shooter , alot like STALKER: SHADOW OF CHERNOBYL , but without the weird lag, the same company who made the elder scrolls : Oblivion made fallout 3, and alot of the exact ingame pc cheats work for fallout 3 that also work with oblivion, it is an awsome fucking game, it is based on a post nuclear war set in the year 2077 , you can kill practically everyone in the game,just run around ingame killing all the gouls and ingame libtards which it does have in it and they sometimes explode , it is fun ,also left 4 dead, is very fun , you get to kill zombies and play in co-op mode where you play with other internet users in story mode, and you can play regular multiplayer as well.

just finished resistence fall of man 2 ....... its intense walking around in the dark with a torch and a magnum.... it gets the adrenalin pumping..... hearing sounds and waiting in suspense on reflexes...... excellent fps game on ps3.... i recommend it by it secondhand cheap....:clap

yea me and assbeef(posts on here) play L4D a lot..good fun, teamwork is a must..great graphics cranked up..runs awesome. battlefield 2 with all the expansions is sweet..im also a big fan of fallout 3 and mass effect is a great game in my eyes, way underrated i think..
