I dowloaded a movie and its in mkv format, I can open it with VLC media player and watch it on my laptop but I cannot move it to any exterior drives - it keeps telling me the file is too big. I downloaded a program to try and convert it to an avi file and it was going fine, but then it crashed my laptop halfway through. I tried a few times and the same shit keeps happening.

I think its because the single file is bigger than 4 gigs. Has anyone had this problem, and is there a way around it?

Window?xp?
NTFS or FAT32?
FAT32 has a limit of file not > 4gigs
convert FAT to NTFS will fix it
Run cmd,
type
C:\>convert D:/fs:ntfs
C is the one with ur system,D is the one with the movie, assume u have partition
I never try but they said it will keep the files in D so...dare to try?no?
burn a DVD!lol

What storage format are the exterior drives using (are you using NTFS, FAT32, etc)? FAT32 has a 4gig limit and you may have to use a different version of storage if this is the case.
