I want to upgrade the memory on my dell inspiron 1521. As you all know vista is nothing but a resource hog i hate it. I was thinking about loading windows xp on it. If its going to be a bitch to ugrade the memory i rather just put xp on it. What do you guys think?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501....and when I wanted to put more memory in....I ordered it all by myself and took out the 1 screw...snapped it in place and was done...bout 10 min.

Moral of the story is....if I can do it...a nigger still cannot comprehend it

You have two memory slots, correct? What do you have in it now? Two 512s or two 1gb? If you plan on keeping Vista (yuck) then get two 2gb sticks. If you plan on switching to XP (yay) then two sticks a gig each.

Be sure to get the right type of laptop memory stick. The 'newer" type will not go into an older laptop.

i'm not sure about the memory clorox.I do know its a fairly new pc,about a year old think it has 2 gbs of memory. Thanks bell, guys,will let you all know how it goes. I know you can buy direct from dell and have them install XP on your system its so damn expensive just hate vista so much. Think in my opion they really screwed up when they made vista.
