While all the songs you mentioned were great Calif. dreaming was the best for me.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of the Steve Hoffman remastered version of the Mamas and Papas' "16 of their Greatest Hits". It's probably one of the most natural sounding CDs in my collection, next to Hoffman's remastered Buddy Holly collection, "From the Original Master Tapes". Although technically out of print, it can easily be found from re-sellers on Amazon, or brand new from Canada. Accept no substitutes-make sure your CD is the one remastered by Steve Hoffman and I can promise you aural bliss.

Those are the ones I liked as a kid. Of course, Cass Elliot's voice made the difference on their biggest songs — not like they were some great rock n roll band or anything. Well, Cass probably rolled around quite a bit. Taken altogether, TM&TP were a little too mellow and schmaltzy for my rockabilly soul.

Now, their sister band, The Lovin' Spoonful, had some jams.

Yeah, the Spoonful are probably one of the most underated bands of all time. That recent DVD release of their TV appearances and promo films is definitely a 'must have'.

There used to be a cool Boston band called "Baby's Arm". ANH probably remembers them.
