I am not bashing anyones intrests here but when I see Bowling and Nascar on the sports channel I fucking lose it.

I like to bowl and golf but in all reality come on those aren't fucking sports. When I go golfing I rent a cart and grab an 18 pack. When I go bowling I eat chili fries and have a beer. What is next is picking up the phone same motion as bowling a sport?

Now on to Nascar. I know many in life and on the forum that love it. I don't see any intrest in it as the car went around the track once I dont want to see it again. But is it a sport? Sure it does take alot of skill. Also those guys train hard mentally and are great at what they do.

Just looking for peoples opinions on this.

I love hockey with a passion it is the best sport I feel think about it. It is fast, they encourage fighting, plus you can carry a weapon. Can't get much better than that:rock

KFC, I thought I was the only one who harbored your beliefs here...I just didn't want to say anything negative about NASCAR lest I provoke an e-riot!

Putting your foot on the gas pedal doesn't make you an athlete!

I believe that NASCAR is a sport because it involves more than just stepping on the gas and turning left. Drivers are in those cars for anywhere from 3 to 5 hours straight. They are manuevering 3,000 pound machines moving anywhere from 80 to 200 MPH, depending on the track size. With 43 drivers on the track, hand/eye coordination and reflexes are key. There are no timouts, commercial breaks, or substitute drivers coming off the bench. With all this, drivers need to achieve and maintain a certain level of physical strength and endurance.

I also feel that NASCAR is one of the sports where the participants are on offense and defense at the same time. You're not only trying to win (offense), but at the same time you're driving to block and keep others from passing you (defense).

Just an opinion from a humble NASCAR fan. Not to worry, Al - no e-riot here!!! LOL :)
