A South Peoria woman was ordered held on $10,000 bond for allegedly cutting a 12-year-old girl on the face and hands Tuesday with a knife during a fight.
MARTRESSE D. Smith, 40, of 430 MacArthur Highway appeared in Peoria County Circuit Court on charges of aggravated battery and domestic battery. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison.
According to police, the girl was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.
Smith is scheduled to appear next in court on July 3 for a preliminary hearing, though it is likely a grand jury will hear the case before then.
