Has anyone read the Elric series by Michael Moorcock? Want to read something really dark,sad and weird? Elric and the rest of the books in the Champion Eternal series are great. Elric is an emperor who has forsaken his throne and finds a sentient sword that drinks souls. He can't be rid of it. He tries to make friends throughout the series but always ends up drinking their soul in the end. He wipes out whole armies wielding Stormbringer too so it's cool. Slightly disturbing but kind of like a serial killer's story you want to read more. Corum and Count Brass are the other books in the series.

Yup, I read all the Elric series and the Corum series. I liked Corum more than Elric because it was shorter and less emo. Plus, the whole eye-and-hand combo was pretty cool.
