This is also the district I live in, but I live on the SW side of the district.
SHE works on the East end of the district that borders Englewood, which is the 7th district, AKA murder city.
We were talking about her job and she works Midnights. We were talking about the murder and death stats that CPD uses for people who get killed in the city. She told me that there are at least 8-9 people killed in her area EVERY night. When you read about the 600-700+ murders a year for Chicago, It is 5-6 times that. The difference is the way the murder is catagorized by the CPD.. She told me if someone got run over by a car and the guy who ran the other guy over, back and forth to crush him, it would not be considered a murdeer because the guy who got hit, might still be alive when the EMT arrives. As long as he is breathing and they can save his organs for when he dies, it goes on as vehicular manslaughter, not murder. Same with shootings stabbing, etc.
I had an uncle that was an area 2 homicide detective, which is the So., Side of Chicago and he basically tolkd me the same thing many years ago.
Moral of the story.....Done believe the stats you see for big and mid size cities.... all BS.
Theres more to this but I dont have to drag this on. You guys know.
