Although it was listed in the OPL catalogue, and there should have been several copies available, I was not surprised that there were actually no copies in the Oakland system.
Fortunately when I went over to the SFPL I found it in a Conrad anthology.
It's supposed to be, according to many literary critics, his best work.
I swear, liberals are much bigger book censores than even the National Socialists supposedly ever were, so I'm not surprised, just because it had the word 'nigger' in the title, the Oakland biblio didn't have a copy, cuz dat maht hurt da po negroes' feelinz.
I think the only reason San Francisco had it was because it was in an anthology and not reflected in the title, so I guess it got overlooked.
Anyway, I'll read it soon and let you know how it is.
