Contact is one of my favourite ones, also enjoyed the asteroid disaster movies of the late 90s, Armageddon and Deep Impact. Cheesy, but good entertainment.

"Demolition Man" was pretty cool. The script was funny and clever, Snipes did a great job portraying your typical Africanus Criminalus, and Sandra Bullock was just so damn cute.
Another good one was "Starship Troopers". The way they made it like a Nazi propaganda film was a fresh angle, and what the helll, who doesn't love exploding giant bugs?
And last, but not least, a couple of Ahnold films- "Running Man" and "Total Recall" were really good.

I thouroughly enjoyed 'Event Horizon'. Anyone see that with Lawrence Fishburne and Sam Neil? I loved the mix of SciFi and horror. I also love space and astronomy and the science of exploration in the fields of faster-than-light travel and experimental physics. Great movie.
Also cool was that the device meant to "fold" space and allow ships to travel light-years in mere moments, actually opened a gateway to another dimension- Hell.

Rod! "Frequency" was a great movie! Universal Soldier, I agree, was pretty damn cool back in the day.

Frequency was damn good, caught it on late night cable last year, never even heard of it till then.
The 13th floor is one that didn't get much attention but is one of my favorites. I think that's because the title sounds like a horror movie and it wasn't promoted that well. It shows a very interesting take on life.

The Arrival – Underrated film, not particularly good but an honest attempt at making a real sci-fi movie
The Fifth Element – Very underrated and misunderstood, a satire rather than a
I couldn't watch Fifth Element b/c of the annoying ass nigger in it! It could have been on par with blade runner otherwise - but the nigger makes it unwatchable

Yep, not really a bad movie but when that Chris fucking Tucker comes on the scene, it's like WTF? He has to take the cake as most annoying nigger. Even the sight of him.................uuuaaaahhhhh

the day after, wacthing 2 pitiful niggers get trampled and torched in the attack scene plus watching a sheboon start a riot and get shot down at the end
