Worm farming

Anyone got any experience of worm farming? I just bought my first worm farm, to dispose of pet mess.

What kind of worms are they?

Make sure they get a balanced diet, a diet of only pet shit can be too acidic.

Shredded newspaper and garden soil makes a good bedding. Keep it damp, but not wet.

Supply them with adequate ventilation.

If you do any gardening, after a few weeks you should start to notice some small pelletized droppings on the top. These are worm castings, and is one of the best organic fertilizers for pretty much any plant.
