HOORAY!!!!!! I can dump Hughes Net!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I need to be fair, if I did not have Hughes net, I’d would have been stuck with dial-up until yesterday.
Now I don't have to deal with Habeeb in Inda for service.

That IS good news.
I can't imagine being on glacial slow dial-up. And I've heard that sometimes HughesNet can be as slow as dial-up at times.
Just don't turn into me, where you need fast speeds so much that you start paying probably unhealthy amounts of money on Internet.

Damn you all!! I still have dial-up! :lol
I'm used to it, but shit, I'd like to watch some of the Youtubes put on here every now and then. And 30 min. to load a page sucks ass, too! :)

Dial-up? And you still managed 1,256 posts in like 6 weeks? Now that's dedication.
Of course, I spend a lot of time in chat so I have fewer posts.

:lol Yeah, go figure, huh? I get bored on the Internet and with dial up, can't play games or watch videos... all I can do is read and type. This place holds my interest because it's ... well, interesting. There's only so many wrestling spolers and porn I can look at!
Okay, there's never enough porn, but... thumbsup you get it!
FYI... writing that and getting it posted took like six minutes. :hng Arghhh!!!

Glad to hear of your dsl freedom....
I got high speed comcast about 5 weeks ago...man I don't miss dial up at all.
Not to mention being able to watch stuff on youtube and on fancast.

DSL is great. I went to my paretns about a month ago and they are still on dial up. Sometimes you dont realize how great some things are until you go back and see.

I'm anxiously awaiting for FIOS to make it's way up here. Pittsburgh and many other surrounding areas are already connected. I'm hoping for at least the beginning of the year.

FIOS? If you get it available you will be one lucky dog!
Especially since after looking at their pricing, it'd be such a good deal, even for business-class (which I generally want for static IP and no restrictions).

Depends on the area, ATT fios in my area is still restricted to the same speeds as their dsl due to restricted bandwidth (fios is much faster and not providing those speeds is a restriction), their push is for other media services (ie using like cable TV). It's a waste in my area at this time.

We just got Qwest fiber optic in my area, where you can get up to 20 Mbps, but it's over $100/month. I can't justify spending the money on it when my 5 Mbit service serves me just fine, and I get it for around $30.

Well, I had nice fast 12 Mbps cable until recently (they called it 15, but it was 12), until I moved 4 miles down the road. No cable here, and DSL is only 1.1 - 1.2 Mbps (they call it 1.5) It's OK for surfing the web, but now I have to leave the computer on all night to download a DVD, used to get it in 45 min. Verizon FIOS won't get here for probably 10 years, and by then it'll be obsolete. That's the price I pay for living in a remote area with no niggers. Even so, if I have DSL here in the middle of nowhere, I can't fathom why anyone is still on dialup, unless cost is an issue.
