Minutes after leaving his house in Mtubatuba on Thursday night, Keith Lewis’ family was brutally attacked. His 90 year-old mother, Vivien Tillett, and son Keith Jnr, were both severely beaten by unknown attackers. Just after 8:30pm, Lewis left his family locked inside the house when he went to a garage up the road. Two male intruders broke the locked gate, entered the house and attacked Keith with sticks. A shot was fired, which grazed his face and then the blows started to rain down on him while the young man was trying to defend himself.
