I dug out an old bluetoof dongle so I could transfer some pics from hubby's phone to this old laptop (my new one is still being repaired - I don't need a dongle for that one as its already got it integrated).

This dongle is a few years old and I used it on an old pc I had at the time running xp. I've installed it on this and it recognises the phone but I can't get it to copy pics into the laptop, well, not the whole pic anyway.

This laptop is also on xp. I tried installing the dongle into my new vista pc but it won't accept it. I'm not sure if its the actual dongle or the software, anyone got any ideas?

If the laptop is Xp update the software and it should allow you to use it with generic windows bluetooth drivers. If you know what brand the bluetooth dongle is go to it's website and try to download the driver for it.

If you can pair the two, on the phone go into the media part where the pics are stored, select what pics you want to move, the phone should give one of the following options of either send (by bluetooth or mms is the choice from there) or move/copy (motorola) then you should be able to send it.

Thanks
I did go and download the latest software from their site but after I had transferred about 5 pics the damn thing tells me I have to purchase it ttrrooll

It was only a cheap dongle I got off ebay and my new laptop should be back soon (I hope!) so I can't be bothered to pay for a license.
