Did anyone pick up this new album yet? I would get it but I'm afraid its gonna suck just as much as st. anger. Any chimpout members have an opinion about their new stuff ? :ktty

I used to have every Metallica album up until the black album. The Black album was the last one I've owned. Nuff said.

A friend sent me a link to a Dutch site that has it streaming, and I checked it out last night.

Know what? I thought it was pretty damned good! And I'm someone who despised everything they've done since the black album, with the exception of Garage Days Re-Revisited.

I'd post the link here, but I'm not at home right now.

As hard as it is to believe, it's good.... really good. I am listening to it right now.

At the time of this writing, it looks like it's been out 5 days on this link:

I downloaded the second one down, super fast download. Took me like 5 min to get the whole album.

That's only one song, probably just a fluke. If it has no solos, then they can keep the shit. Not sure I want to listen to it at all, just on principle.

K,I downloaded a few off Limewire,The Day That never Comes stinks!Gotta wait til half way through the song before they start jamming.Still haven't heard a guitar solo yet.Ok,there is a half hearted attempt at a solo in this song, but you still have to wait entirely too long for it.Gonna try the others and see what they smell like.

Cyanide is ok,but still reminds me of that 'Load' crap.My Apocalypse is definately worth listening to though.Sounds like the old Metallica on that one!

End Of The Line would be at least decent, but still not great,if James sang it with some balls instead of trying to sing like John Lennon. Not that there's anything wrong with Lennon, just doesn't belong in a Metallica song. From what I've heard, this sounds like another 'Load' album. One good song and the rest are only so much fluff. They need to try again.Fill the album with stuff that sounds like 'My Appocolypse' and they will have a real Metallica album.I think this one still misses the mark and won't really restore thier former glory.

I am listening to it as we speak. It rocks totally back to their roots! You can download it here perfect quality:
www.zamunda.net

It's a bulgarian site so if you dont know bulgarian look way up in the far left corner and click on the british flag. It will then mostly be in English.
This new Metallica will not disappoint.

I was listening to it in the other room, having a few beers and I wanted to check you tube for new Metallica Videos since there is slim to no chance I will catch it on MTV. Sure enough, they are up there, have been for 10 days.

I think it's safe to say this is the best album in 17 years from them. Not only that, some guitar work on here rivals that of some songs off And Justice For All. It's weird, like in the second half of almost every song, they tear it up. I sure would like to know how it's humanly possible to play what he does at 6:18 on the song Suicide and Redemption. Overall this is a good album. A must have for any metal fan. I can only speak for myself but I have new found respect for Metallica. People would have lost complete faith had this album sucked. It's beyond me how St. Anger was so bad, like one of the worst albums ever, and how this sounds completely different. This is such a rebound for them.

I am excited about this album, it just might energize metal into the main stream again.

Start this at 5:20 to hear what Metallica used to sound like:(Brand New Vid)

Looks like people are putting everything on youtube, even guitar lessons. I am going to try to learn some of this right now. I guarantee, there are some parts that they won't know. It's just too difficult to play. You never know though.

I guess Lars isn't being a dick this time around because he can't stop it.

This song rocks, especially at around 6:20.

I must be listening to a different album, the only song on there that I heard that sounded even remotely like old Metallica was 'My Apocolypse',and even that one wasn't as good as thier old shit, the solowas too short and there was only one solo in the song, where they used to have two solos per song, the rest sucked ass.I belive this album does dissapoint,at least for anyone who was there in the 80's and heard them in thier prime anyway. It doesn't suck as bad as St.Anger, but it still sucks.

Metallica once again attempts to de-lame itself, and fails. Maybe they should record another Thrash album, that would solve the problem of them sucking.

Exactly,if you have to wait through half the song before it gets good, then it misses.Cliff Burton would not approve!

To steal a line from Taylor, I put on my flame proof suit and still say this album is good. 6 or 7 out of 10 songs are good in my opinion, which makes it a better than average album.

I invite anyone who hears the album to chime in as well.

And yes, Nigger Knocker, we know you don't like it.
