SEATTLE - A pregnant woman is recovering after being beaten and carjacked early Thursday morning in Seattle's Northgate neighborhood.
The incident started just after 4 a.m. in the 12000 block of Roosevelt Way N.E.
According to police, the carjacker hit the 21-year-old woman in the chest and stomach then drove off in her car.
Both the woman and her unborn baby are said to be doing fine and her car has been recovered.
"And this guy was just pushing and kicking with this poor little gal who was seven and a half months pregnant," Gray said.
Gray raced across the street to help, while other neighbors shouted out they were calling 911.
She says the suspect was more than 6 feet tall.
"He really could've injured her severely. Injured the baby. Could've killed her," Gray said.
"You could see her eyes starting to turn black and blue, and you know a bump starting to swell up a little bit," Gray said. "She had scrapes and bruises on her hands. She was very shook up."
Police say the suspect is a black male, about 6 feet tall, with curly hair, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
