Gun-toting suspect Shamar Henson arrested after wild foot-chase through the Bronx

A gun-toting suspect opened fire on cops as he led them on a wild foot chase through the Bronx early Saturday, police said.
The dramatic pursuit began after officers from the 47th Precinct Anti-Crime Unit noticed that Shamar Henson was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and winter gloves despite the warm temperatures at 3 a.m., police said.
As the cops approached Henson, 28, the suspiciously dressed man took off running south down Paulding Ave., police said.
He then sprinted down E. 227th St. as the plainclothes patrolmen - who identified themselves as police officers, according to cops - ran after him.
Henson dashed down an alley between homes on the Williamsbridge block and then whirled around and unleashed a single shot at the cops following him, police said.
The bullet missed, and the cops were able to subdue Henson moments later, police said.
The officers did not fire any shots, police said.
