Two men convicted of a pair 1991 murders in Catawba County and sentenced to die for their crimes have filed to be resentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Nathan Bowie, 39, and his uncle William Bowie, 47, were among 119 inmates – both black and white – who filed to have their death sentences reversed under the North Carolina Racial Justice Act signed into law on Aug. 6, 2009.

The law gave the state's death row inmates until Tuesday to appeal their convictions. If they can prove that race "was a significant factor" in seeking or imposing the death sentence, the inmate will be resentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Nathan and William Bowie are claiming that they were sentenced to death because of their race.

They throw that at me when I ring them up on the register and they are using their credit card and can't show ID it's a given that they will throw the race card on death row! I saw go ahead and slowly peel their nigger skin off and pour salt on them.

Niggers kill 12 whites per day, just keeping up with this pace wold mean hanging 12 niggers per day, just the ones who killed whites. Then we have 1,000's of them living in jails, releasing a lot of them like Mike Hukcabee did with the nigger who shot 4 white cops in Seattle.

There has to be gallows that dispose of all this rubbish.:hng

Long drop method is better. Just ask Britain. They used it for executions right up until the mid 1970's. Short rope doesn't promise that it works, and it's possible for someone to actually survive. Long drop, (average six feet) promises a snap of the neck and instant death.

Some these baboons are so overweight the long drop would not only snap their necks but also tear their heads clear off (not that I mind, but those who have to clean up afterwards would).

Execution by firing squad is still done in Utah.

I like watching them kick and swing for a minute or two! The tongue slowly sliding out of their mouth is quiet interesting!
