Police are looking for a man in his 50s or 60s who held up a convenience store in the City of Aiken early Friday morning, according to officials.
About 2:30 a.m., the gunman, described as a nigger male with a gray beard, wearing a black jacket, black pants and tan hooded sweatshirt, was spotted walking from the nearby unemployment offices to Greg's Gas Plus, 1610 Richland Ave. E.
The man picked up two soup cans and carried them over to the clerk standing behind the counter, police reported.
The robber then pulled out a large black pistol and ordered the clerk to hand over all the money in the register. After receiving a handful of cash, he ran toward Park Avenue, police said.
The incident is under investigation.
This is the second holdup in the City of Aiken in less than a week.
