There seems to be a slew of crappy remakes coming down the pike with the crappiest casting calls ever!!!!

I heard that Will Ferrell will star as Rick Marshall in a movie version of "Land of the Lost". They are turning it into a comedy.

The next horror is that Keanu Reeves will star as Klaatu in a remake of "The Day The Earth Stood Still".

I am in hell I tell you.

I'm still waiting to hear that Gilligan's Island will get the big screen treatment, maybe with Jim Carrey as Gilligan and John Goodman as Skipper.

Dr Bloor, I though you suggested that some actor named clint and some actor named Tom should play those respective rolls.:sock

This is a bit off the original topic...but if you liked "Gilligans Island" and you like horror and sci fi movies. Check out a Japaneese movie made in 1963 called "Matango". Its a cross between "Gilligans Island" and "Invasion of the body Snatchers"...sort of.

Is that the one also known as Attack of the Mushroom People? If so, I used to have it on tape. Kind of freaky.
Thats the one. Its on DVD now.

I went to Best Buy and found one copy. I hadnt seen it in decades but i remembered how disturbing it was and had to buy and watch it.

When I was a wee lad my brothers told me it was the real story of what happined on Gilligans Island. Those bastards almost ruined the show for me.

That's fucking hilarious! Yeah, I also upgraded my old VHS of the "Mushroom People" to the new DVD.

This remake really frosts my ass. That wiki entry is really out of date though. A summary of the script has been leaked on the internet and Klaatu is now here to warn us of global warming, Gort is replaced by a four-legged robot who stands up to shoot his ray and is called the "Totem", and supposedly the famous line "Klaatu Barada Nikto" is never uttered. What's worse is the Patricia Neal part is now a coalburner, and the cute kid played by Billy Grey is now a niglet played by Jada Smith. Oh, and last but not least, Will Smith has a cameo. This is not a joke. I repeat, this is NOT a joke.

I refuse to watch anything with Will Ferrell in, he is one of the most unfunny worthless pieces of shit ever to drag its stinking carcass into a studio.

They totally fucked up Dukes Of Hazzard. It couldn't have been more far off from the original series. Horrible casting choices. Burt as Boss Hogg? About the only character that fit was Willie as Uncle Jesse. I used to love that show a little kid and about the only good thing about the movie was Jessica Simpson.

Didn't someone post a news item about a remake of "Time After Time" with Will Smith and HG Wells portrayed as a drunk who sent Jack the Ripper into the future? I thought I read that here but I could be mistaken.

are you kidding??? what more can that uppity coon ruin?? I'm surprised that no one mentioned that horrible remake of "Planet of the Apes", to me, that was pure unadulterated sacrilege; some things should just be left alone...Tim Burton, I think?

The Day The Earth Stood Still remake will be a flop. Hollywood will never be able to replicate the coolness of the original movie. If it doesn't have Gort, they must abort.

That remake was horrible. Not to mention it had Marky Mark in it, a total wigger.

No one dislikes Marky Mark as much as I, but to be fair the guy hates niggers. I think I saw a TV bio off him and like a good South Boston boy, he regularly stalked and beat the crap out of niggers in his youth. I'm almost certain he did jail time for it too.
