So, something that Taylor had mentioned in the Classical Music thread got me thinking. He said that Arron Copeland's "Appalachian Spring" will be playing at his funeral. That inspired me to ask the question to all of you; what song will be playing at your respective funerals?
As for myself, it's "No Language In Our Lungs" by XTC

Looking forward to learning what all of you have in mind for the closing theme for your life.

Oh, bitch, they're not playing a song at my funeral... It's gonna be a fucking soundtrack, a medley that I mix up myself, full of shit from the four corners of the world of weirdness. And part of that mix is going to be Hasil Adkins, undoubtedly. Let the bitches all gasp in horror.

I have had this conversation before with a few different people.
First choice is Dust in the Wind, probably the best song EVER. (need to double click if you want to view it)

Damn, that's a great question. I've never thought about it before. Being as pagan as a Beltaine fire you could burn me, bury me, eat me or dump me in a ditch, heh.
If it's going to be a production then I want cases of Tennents Stout and Super and pipers and drunken fights and off-key singing.

Edit: I've been listening to pipers for almost an hour now and I'm ready to go. God Bless the Scots and the Irish! To hell with the niggers. Thank God I live in the inner city cuz I get to troll those bastards in real life.

I would like "Beyond the Realms of Death" by Judas Priest played at my funeral:

I think it would be quite appropriate considering I don't plan on dying until the ripe old age of 90 and the lyrics make me think of an elderly person dying in a nursing home.

"What's The Ugliest Part Of Your Body" by Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention.
I will insist that this is sung by a cantor strapped to a rotating post, which should turn faster and faster until he is rendered unconscious.
In death, I will create the first human Leslie speaker.
Music's never fun unless it humiliates the musician.
:rofl
Funny you should say that, Brewski. At work today I did some maintenance on a Leslie speaker and was wondering how I could convert it into a weapon!

No funeral for me thank you. death rites are for the living & I'm too selfish to give any of my survivors that luxury. WOW I'm a bitch.:drunk

Odin, I kind of figure you for a Viking type funeral (Burning wooden ship set ablaze and drifting) with German Martial songs playing loudly. -cheers

That's funny. As soon as I saw the blurry image of Sid below the 'play' button, I knew what it was. Good choice, Hek.
Great one Hekate, I am almost sure that was in "Mr Mikes Mondo Video".

Tom T Hall's 'I hope it rains at my funeral'.
A man with forty acres, plowed and planted
Can't send no fourteen year old boy to no school
The only thing I learned in the years I worked on my daddy's farm
Was son you better get them crops in when it turns cool
In the magazines I saw the naked women
I heard about the drinking and the bars
If my daddy would have caught me he'd a killed me
He said you might run boy, but you aint gonna get far
I hit town or you might say that it hit me
Next morning there were things I knew more about
The women who had taken me in said country boy you're alright
The same way she turned me on, she turned me out
The first law I broke, right away they got me
I helped them build the country roads for a while
They fed me two times a day and knocked me down about four
For thirty days I did'nt even crack a smile
Met a nice girl and she said I was her baby
She let me go and would never tell me why
I learned what it means to be somebodys baby
They let you lie in your bed and be by yourself and die
So let me say this
I never tried to hurt anybody
Though I guess theres a few I still couldnt look in the eye
If I've got one wish
I hope it rains at my funeral
For once I'd like to be
The only one dry

I wanna die violently- By Atomizer.
All kinds of people have all sorts of feelings about dying
Most view it with fear and trepidation, but that's not the way for me, oh no
On a day like no other
I welcome death, I welcome the reapers icy embrace
His cold damp cloak as it scrapes against my skin
And because this day will come but once in your entire life
It should be a truly magnificent event
Something to be remembered for all eternity
You want people to gather, you want people to lament
The severity of your final moments on this earth
For this is more than significant this event, this is forever
When I die, I wanna die violently
What could be more mundane than dying of old age
Or of natural causes when there's death by misadventure to be pursued?
Any idiot can die, but it takes someone truly special to go out
In what I'd call a spectacular kind of way
Ripped apart by sharks, torn to bits by wolves
Tortured beyond the threshold of human tolerance
And don't fear the reaper when the game is over and your number is up
For death my friends, yes death is inevitable!
When I die, I wanna die violently, when I die I hope that I'll suffer
Burnt out and cut up and dealt out and fucked up
When I die, I pray my exit's gonna be fucking bleak when I die I wanna be in pain
In a vicious and inhumane sorta way to the very hilt of human suffering
With fear and loathing racing through my veins
Why be serious about death?

Close your eyes
Look deep in your soul
Step outside yourself
And let your mind go
Frozen eyes stare deep in your mind as you die
Dance with the dead in my dreams
Listen to their hallowed screams
The dead have taken my soul
