A French movie filmed in Paris and starts in California. Saw an advanced screening. The first 20 minutes is all story set-up eliiciting sympathy for the main character. I doubt if it'll take in 200 mil in the US but it's a good movie and worth the tickets and popcorn. He has 96 hours to find his daughter.

Liam Neeson plays a retired CIA agent who gave up his postings after The Divorce to be closer to his daughter. His ex-wife, Famke Jannsen, who?, exactly, but she plays the Ex-Wife very well, so it must be inherent in the species; has no use for him and is currently married to an extremely wealthy elderly man. A fat old gray haired Santa Claus is what he looks like.

Liam's character, Bryan, has his BBQ buddies, all CIA agents who still come around to remind him life isn't as bad as his ex-wife makes it out to be. He's offered a side job as a body guard to a pop singer, cough Britney Spears cough. They're supposed to handle transportation from the airport to the venue and once they get her inside the stadium, they hand off security to "her" people. The CIA guys are in a room playing poker waiting for the concert to end so they can escort her back out to where the hell ever she's supposed to go ... when she's almost stabbed in an attack. Liam hustles her into an SUV who, in thanks, gives him her agent and voice coach information for his daughter, who wants to be a singer.

Now, his daughter has a chance to go study in Paris and he has some conditions, like these are the no-go areas (they don't say where) and you're to call me every night.

"Oh daddy, mom says your job made you paranoid."

"My job made me aware."

Heh, turns out she's not studying in Paris, she's following U2's European tour with one of her girlfriends. Uh oh.

The two girls arrive in Paris and are invited to a party where they are immediately set up by a East European looking guy. Daughter doesn't call ... Liam's worried. He calls the ex-wife who tells him to take a sleeping pill or have a drink or something.

Liam finally gets in touch with his daughter and while she's getting bitched for not calling ... Daddy, there are people in the house!

She drops the phone as she's kidnapped, her screams coming through the speaker and it's picked up after a few minutes. You hear a man breathing at the other end.

"I don't know what you've done with my daughter but I will look for you. I will find you and I will kill you."

"Good luck."

The phone goes dead.

Then it gets intense.

It's a good movie, I liked it.

I saw the trailer for this movie when I saw X-Files 2. It looked pretty good, I must say.
